Cycle One (August 9-14) and Cycle Two (August 17-22)
For anyone who has purchased individual tickets to the Seattle Ring OUTSIDE the WSNC group order, we would like to make you aware of some special events that are planned. Please feel free to join your fellow Wagnerians. If you purchased Seattle Rings tickets through WSNC, this will serve as an additional reminder.
(1) WSNC PARTY -- post-Rheingold, kick-off-those-party shoes events during which you can eat, drink, and make merry at a "Recession-proof Ring Party." The point is to have FUN and meet other Wagnerites -- and we can offer you both.
Cycle One: Sunday, August 9 Lisa Burkett and Sylvia Wright, hosts
Cycle Two: Monday, August 17 Lisa Burkett and Andy Rombakis, hosts
After a search of local venues, the WSNC Ring Social Committee -- Lisa Burkett, Andy Rombakis, John Wagner, and Sandra Molyneaux -- decided upon T.S.McHugh's Irish Pub, 21 Mercer Street, Seattle, WA 98109 www.tsmchughs.com. It’s not the Ritz, but it's fun, it’s informal and it's in the neighborhood -- quite literally, a two-block stroll from the opera house.
And at $42.00 per person, it's a great buy for substantial bar food so that those of you who rushed into the Rhine without dinner need not go to bed hungry -- artichoke hearts au gratin, peel and eat shrimp, mini-pot-pies, mini-Rubens, and lox; mini chocolate tortes, bread pudding, and coffee. PLUS, price includes two bar drinks (well spirits, beer, wine, sodas). Additional drinks only $5.00.
If you are meeting friends in Seattle, bring them along.
Sorry, however, advance reservations only; no late admission at the door.
Absolute and final deadline for party applications -- August 1ST (I’m not making this up!)
Make it easy and reserve now.
(2) INFORMAL GATHERINGS, no host, no reservations -- Don Tremblay, Manager of T.S.McHugh's, has guaranteed that the full-menu kitchen will remain open for one hour after the final curtain of each Ring performance. He is also setting aside "The Library," a special space for those who want to gather and discuss -- dare I say argue over? -- each opera as it unfolds. Remember, however, if you attend the Q&A sessions, the kitchen may not be open. Keep this in mind if you want
to have a bite to eat after the performance
(3)SPECIAL POT-LUCK PARTY -- Rod Parke and Dale Burke, two Seattle Wagnerites, host fabulous parties for Ring attendees. More information later on, but add the dates to your itineraries and consider their offer IF you purchase your
Das Barbecu tickets.
Parke/Burke Pot Luck Party:
Cycle One -- Thursday, August 13
Cycle Two -- Friday, August 21
For more information and to be put on the WSNC Seattle Ring distribution list, contact Sandra Molyneaux at Sandra_molyneaux@msn.com for (614) 405-9277.
