Russian Rarities in Alameda, CA

While it is not Wagner, it is opera and WSNC Member Rick Bogart has spear headed this project : For Valhalla Productions, I am proud and excited to announce the opening next week of a unique operatic double bill. In collaboration with Island City Opera of Alameda, we are presenting two seldom-heard one-act operas by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, "Mozart and Salieri" and "Kashchey, the Immortal".

The MacArthur Fellowship is a five-year grant to individuals who show exceptional creativity in their work and the prospect for still more in the future.  The program is intended to encourage people of outstanding talent to pursue their own creative, intellectual, and professional inclinations.

Yuval Sharon was selected among the twenty-three MacArthur Fellows to receive the "genius grant" yesterday, October 11, 2017.
